2. Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality Requirements: Must be a citizen of India. Subjects of Nepal or Bhutan are also eligible.
  • Age Limits (Minimum & Maximum): A candidate must have attained the age of 20 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years on 1st August, 2025 (born not earlier than 2nd August, 2000 and not later than 1st August, 2005).
  • Age Relaxation Categories:
    • Up to a maximum of five years for candidates belonging to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe.
    • Up to a maximum of three years for candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes eligible for reservation.
    • Up to a maximum of five years for Civilian Central Government Servants and Ex-Servicemen.
  • Gender Eligibility: Both Male and Female candidates are eligible.
  • Educational Qualification: A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University or possess an equivalent qualification. Candidates appearing in the final year (2025) of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.
  • Physical Standards:
    • Height: Men – 165 cm, Women – 157 cm
    • Chest: Men – 81 cm (unexpanded) with 5 cm minimum expansion. (Not applicable for Women)
    • Weight: Men – 50 kg minimum, Women – 46 kg minimum. Weight must be as per the prescribed height and age chart.
  • Medical Standards: As specified in Appendix-V of the Notice, covering eyesight, carrying angle, ear, nose, neck, teeth, venereal disease, chronic skin diseases, and general physical and mental health.
  • Any Other Eligibility Conditions:
    • Candidates finally selected in an earlier CAPF (AC) examination are not eligible.
    • Possession of NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ Certificate is a desirable qualification.

3. Examination Plan (Stage-wise Structure — Summary Only)

  • Stage I: Written Examination
  • Stage II: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) / Physical Standards Test (PST)
    • Nature of Tests: Qualifying/Eliminatory. PST first, followed by PET for those who qualify PST.
    • PET Standards:
      • 100 Meters race: Males – 16 seconds, Females – 18 seconds.
      • 800 Meters race: Males – 3 minutes 20 seconds, Females – 4 minutes 5 seconds.
      • Long Jump: Males – 3.5 Meters, Females – 3.0 meters.
      • Shot Put (7.26 Kgs.): Males – 4.5 Meters.
  • Stage III: Interview / Personality Test
    • Nature of Assessment: Conducted by UPSC for candidates qualifying PET/PST.
    • Marks: 150

  • Any official conditions related to force allocation: Allocation is made based on position in the Merit List and the Service/Force preferences indicated by candidates in the Online Application Form. The number of vacancies is liable to alteration.
