Nationality Requirements:
A candidate must be:
(a) a Citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 intending to settle permanently, or
(e) a person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries, or Vietnam intending to settle permanently.
Candidates belonging to categories (b), (c), (d), (e) must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
Age Limits (Minimum & Maximum):
A candidate must not have attained the age of 32 years as on.
For Medical Officers Grade in General Duty Medical Officers Sub-cadre of Central Health Services: upper age limit is 35 years as on 1st August.
Age Relaxation Categories:
(i) Up to 5 years for SC/ST.
(ii) Up to 3 years for OBC.
(iii) Up to 3 years for Defence Services personnel disabled in operations.
(iv) Up to 5 years for Ex-servicemen.
(v) Up to 5 years for ECOs/SSCOs.
(vi) Up to 10 years for Persons with Benchmark Disability.
Cumulative relaxation is allowed for SC/ST/OBC candidates who also qualify under other clauses (e.g., Ex-servicemen, PwBD).
Educational Qualifications:
Passed the written and practical parts of the final M.B.B.S. Examination.
Candidates appearing or yet to appear may apply provisionally.
Internship / Registration Requirements:
Candidates yet to complete compulsory rotating internship are eligible for admission but will be appointed only after completion.
Physical / Medical Fitness Standards:
Candidates must be physically and medically fit according to standards in Appendix III of the Examination Rules.
Any Other Eligibility Conditions:
Appointment is subject to verification of eligibility with original documents after qualifying for the Interview/Personality Test.

Nature of Assessment: Interview to test general knowledge, academic study, intellectual curiosity, critical powers, judgement, social cohesion, integrity, initiative, leadership.
